Last Day in Céret!

It was our last full day in Cerét, one last stroll around the many streets of the town with hopes of having lunch under the dappled sunlight in the square "Place des Neuf Jets".

Coffee at Bar Le Pablo with the sunshine shining and the air warming.

As we were leaving to head back to the apartment to do a bit of packing up in preparation for tomorrow's departure, Monsieur Honey stopped to say "Hello" to a couple at another table.

After introductions we were asked to join them, from there we asked them to join us for lunch and we enjoyed a lovely last afternoon in Cerét.

Our new Kiwi acquaintances, John and Karen split their time between their homes in New Zealand and Céret.

In our opinion they have a primo address in Céret ... in Place des Neuf Jets (yes my favourite square).

After lunch we were invited to join them for coffee at their home high in the trees overlooking the square.

The views are amazing!

Finally the water is running in La Fontaine des Neuf Jets ...

Our new "friends" told us a bit of history about the fountain ... it was built in the 14th century.
As control of Céret changed between France and Spain the lion was rotated in the direction of the reigning country.

Can't you see why I like this place?

One of the joys of travelling is meeting new people, eventhough it is possible we may never see them again and then maybe our paths will meet again!

It was a wonderful way to spend our last day in Céret'!

We wandered back to our apartment and attacked the packing ... and are ready for the next chapter of our adventures!

Follow us as we travel to Provence, spending our remains time here before we return home!
