Medieval Garden

Yesterday (Tuesday) we visited the "Jardin Médiéval" described as "a rich heritage to discover"...

In the 11th Century there were two castles in Uzés ... the Bermond and the Raynon Castles named after the two lords of Uzés.

The Bermond castle is now called the "Duchy".

The Medieval Garden created in 1995 is scattered throughout the Raynon Castle grounds, and was inspired by the walled gardens of the end of the Middle Ages.

Beautifully laid out gardens representing the four seasons.

The property and gardens are looked after /operated by the IN SITU association.

Exhibitions are also hosted in the various rooms of the buildings ... While we were there, a pottery and sculpture exhibit was on display.

What a wonderful setting for these gardens...
