Hurry Up and Wait Day!!!

Today is our travel day.

No matter how organized, prepared and ready we are to go; we always feel like we are rushing and in a hurry... only in the end we just have to wait for the next leg of our journey.

Right now I'm waiting for the shower ...Graeme beat me to it this morning., so I should have hurried up instead of waiting!

Next, we will be ready in our travel gear, bags packed, travel docs in hand and then we will be waiting for the chaffeurs of our airport shuttle for the day (our dear friends, Kathi & Mike offered to drive us to Toronto)...not that they are late, the appointed hour isn't here yet..but it 's just the anticipation.

Check-in hopefully won't be too bad ..I've done the online check-in. The info on the website states you just show your ID/Passport and drop off your bags; we'll see how easy that is for an International flight?

The lines at the Security Screening are always the longest and slowest...so hurry up, get in line and wait.

Once we've been checked and passed the security screening; now I feel we are on our way...but now the serïous "Hurry Up and Wait" begins; as we wait for our boarding call....

If our flights are on time will be in Toulouse by noon tomorrow, then shuttle to the Train Station, train to Gourdon and eventually arrive at our cottage anytime between 3PM - 6PM depending on connection times.

Countdown to the Rendezvous

11 more sleeps and the excitement builds before we go on our dream trip.

While not our first visit (this will be our sixth) and we have always wanted to do a longer stay.

We have rented a cottage (our pied a terre) in Gourdon, a small medieval town in the Lot Valley, in Southwest France.

We will be flying on Air France from Toronto to Paris then to Toulouse and completing the final leg by train to Gourdon.

Weather reports for Gourdon are still as cold as here in SW Ontario, but they say Spring comes early in France, so we are hopeful that the temperature will soon improve.
