More Postcards from Burgos, Spain

This will be my last postcards from Burgos, Spain ...

I know you are probably thinking so many from one destination ... there were so many things of interest to see here.

Plaza Mayor

I just love the detail on this building ...

The city has bronze statues everywhere you turn ...

If I had a hammer ...

                   Toro, toro!

"El CID" Rodrigos Díaz de Vivar ... a Castillian Nobleman, Military leader in Medieval Spain ...
He was a National hero. Born in 1043 ... Died July 10, 1099 ...his remains and that of his wife were moved and are now buried in the Cathedral in Burgos.

Arc de Santa Maria .. an entrance to Plaza Mayor

   Modern Art? ...

Laundry day ... Solar clothes dryer in Burgos!

So I know I have probably overloaded you with "Postcards" from Burgos but it truly has so much to see and do ... magnificent architecture in the many churches and other old buildings, the kaleidoscope of colours used to paint the facades, the wonderful artworks in the life like bronze statues that each tell their own story.

And if that was not enough ... all the beautiful green spaces, parks along the Arlanzon river! There are three square miles (1878 acres) of parks.

I read that there is one tree for every three inhabitants.

Hope you enjoyed the tour of the city!
