Something New

Dear Readers,

I have decided to continue with writing a blog, and I am in the process of setting up same with a different / new name and layout.

Why change the name?

Because for the present time, at least not until some time next year we will not be travelling to France or the Lot Valley... so I won't be posting any "Postcards from the Lot".

The new blog will be about my perspective, thoughts and adventures in and around home... about my walking and trekking, day to day life and all the beauty I see.

I will continue posting "Postcards" about my local adventures and life ... Every picture tells a story!

Stay tuned ...

Here is an amazing succulent plant ...
An entry to a walking trail...
Late summer geranium...

Let's see where these shoes take me?

Monsieur Honey's "Morris Chair"!

Remember this chair... that we saw at the wonderful store "Un certain... Regard" in Gourdon.

No, we did not buy it and bring it back to Canada.

We did however buy enough fabric to have the cushions made for the "Morris" chair that Monsieur Honey built from cherry wood a few years ago and last year he finally finished applying the urethane.

A visit to the upholsterer with the chair and fabric should result in that "certain look".

Then maybe soon the chair will no longer be naked, fully dressed and have pride of place in our living room.

Stay tuned ... for updated photos of the finished product

Some editing has caused this post to become out of order... This was originally posted July 15th... the most recent post is actually the next one... The Return of Monsieur Honey's Morris Chair dated August 21st.

The Return Monsieur Honey's Morris Chair.

Some of you may remember my earlier post dated July 15th titled "Monsieur Honey's Morris Chair" ...  I wrote about the special fabric we purchased in France and the chair Msr. Honey had built and that we delivered to the upholstery store where cushions were custom ordered to fit the chair.

    The Naked Chair...
built by Monsieur Honey from cherry wood.

Today on our way to do an errand we were driving by the upholstery store and I was "frantic" because I saw our chair in the window.

A quick U- turn and we were back at the store with payment made, the chair and cushions were loaded in the car for it's ride to our home.

The chair is now quite at home amongst our eclectic style and other pieces of furniture.

It has been "seat tested" by several visitors today ... and is firm, supportive and very comfortable.

The chosen fabric is beautiful.

Great workmanship by Rene from Frantic Upholstery.
