Saturday Stroll in Goujounac

Saturday afternoon was spent in the commune of Goujounac in the Lot Department...after a most delicious lunch at the Hostellerie de Goujounac, we ambled along the village streets.

Here are some postcards of our stroll through the village.

Deep red doors framed by matching red roses.

   Old faded blue entry door.

Lobelia growing from the stone walls.

Baby blue door softened by baby pink roses.

  What's behind this door?

Someone new has moved into the neighbourhood!

    A Monkey Puzzle Tree

   One of the Church doors...

Do you see the poppies growing from the Church roof?

Saturday Lunch in Goujounac.

After our busy morning of market activities in Gourdon, we decided to visit the village of Goujounac and have a lunch date at the "Hostellerie de Goujounac".

The Hostellerie is a Hotel, Restaurant, Bar and has a terrace and garden.

We arrived in time for our reservation and were warmly greeted and seated at our table beside the crackling fire.
Even though, it was not a rainy day and the sun was shining, the temperatures were still a bit cool, and the stone walled buildings are always colder ... the fire provided a lovely ambiance for an enjoyable lunch date.

The food was delicious and the service by the husband and wife team was friendly and attentive.

After lunch we strolled the village streets, and pride of ownership is evident everywhere you look... subject of another post.

Give this place a try for lunch or dinner, a drink or if you need a place to stay try one of their rooms.

Saturday Morning at the Gourdon Market!

No need for umbrellas today!
There was no rain. Clouds and sunshine made for a hive of activity at the Satruday market in Gourdon.
Lots of producers and plenty of choice and selection.
With our bags full of vegetables, fruits, etc... We found an outdoor café to enjoy a cup of coffee.
