Sounds and Sights of Paris

Ssshhhhh'

Today ( Tuesday, April 28th ) was our last day in Paris.
Follow us through the streets, see the sites through our "eyes" as we visit some old and new "to us neighbourhoods".

The oldest market in Paris.

Excellent name for a "Brocante" ... "Hier - Aujourd'hui - Demain" ... Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.
You know that Monsieur Honey would get lost here!

Keep your eyes open, you never what you'll see ... behind an open door, the slightly ajar gate or around the next corner!

A must see the George Pompidou Centre ... although closed today we did view the building and area.

A disappointment ... the fountains weren't running today ... that could be enough reason to come back!

Beauborg ...

Old municipal showers ...

A most beautiful tree ... we are still trying to find out what is called?

We felt very close to my parents' homeland when we wandered into the Walloon - Brussels area ...
Here we discovered an unique men's boutique " Le Colonel Moutarde" selling wonderful bow ties, underwear, and braces (suspenders)!

Here Msr. Honey purchased a pair of very stylish suspenders that were made in Belgium.

Is there a business opportunity here?

Hello Ladies!

I still have many photo "postcards" from Paris ... I will send soon!

Great Impressions at "L'Orangerie".

Today (Monday 27th April) we again wandered to the Louvre area / Jardins de Tuileries as we planned to visit L'Orangerie ...

Some interesting art work along the way ... a bird in the hand.

Monsiuer Honey being "cheeky" ... "What another photo?"

The entrance / doorway to the building where we would very much like to live in Paris!

Entering the Jardins de Tuileries...

At the Musee de L'Orangerie we wandered through Monet's "Water Lillies" ... What a wonderful sight!

The Musée de l'Orangerie Is an art gallery of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings.
It is most famous for the eight "Water Lillies" murals  by Claude Monet.
The vestibule was designed by Monet.

It also contains works by Cezanne, Matisse, Modigliani, Picasso, Renoir to name a few.

Our afternoon was spent strolling through some other areas of Paris ... lunch at a café on Rue Cler which was finished off by the most delicious "Tarte Citron".

Les Invalides ...

Our walk back home took us along Blvd. St. Germaine and along the Seine ...
by the end of the day I had stepped 19,500 times covering 12.5 kilometres

The decorated Hotel de Ville...

Tomorrow is our last day in Paris ... where will we venture to?
